How Brands Handle Negative Analytics on Social Media

March 27, 2024

Have you checked your analytics for your business account on socials lately?

When you see your analytics taking a dive in the wrong direction, you probably feel discouraged, like NOTHING you do is working.

Here’s a PSA for you and everyone else feeling this way:

NORMALIZE đź‘Ź NEGATIVE đź‘Ź ANALYTICS.

(It’s so important, and something I always talk to clients about during my strategy sessions.)

No matter how “successful” your account is or how large of a following you have, you’re going to have good and bad months.

And remember, you’ll always have a negative for the month if something went exceptionally well (more than usual!) the month prior.

Don’t let your emotions get tied to numbers on your screen.

We’re ALL on different paths, and everyone has their own way of doing things.

Try not to compare yourself to other accounts, seeing how many followers they have or how often they post and feeling like you’re not doing enough.

A complaint that I’ve seen recently online about content that wasn’t performing well was blamed on being in a “boring” industry (i.e., finance, tech, medical, or other less creative industries.)

Even the “boring” industries have a lot of exciting things to share!

How do you make something boring more fun?

Here’s how to liven up your content:

1. Educate your audience through carousel post guides or videos explaining your product or service.

2. Hone in on what makes your brand unique as you establish your niche. Give your brand voice an informative yet conversational and relatable tone.

3. Show your followers how your product or service works. Many of us need to see it to believe it, aka demonstrations and photos/videos of your brand in action.

Set yourself up for a great month ahead by lining up all of your content ahead of time!

The Impact Content Calendar has super easy prompts to implement for ANY brand (boring or not.)
