4 Easy Instagram Feed Tips to Create an Aesthetic Feed

October 16, 2024

Have you heard about the latest Instagram update? It’s a bit of a big deal! The grid view is switching from the classic square to a portrait size! Now, I know not everyone has this feature yet (you can see a preview with this tiktok), but it’s coming your way soon! If most of your posts are formatted for that square grid, it might be time to start switching things up to fit the new portrait mode (think 4:5).

Speaking of visuals, can I just say how much I love a good aesthetic? As I scroll through Insta, I often find myself daydreaming about how I’d spruce up random accounts I stumble upon. 😂

Take @vicavela, for example. She’s got a fab mix of carousel posts and reels showcasing her super cute everyday outfits. You get a nice blend of close-ups and wider shots, which is great! But honestly, her overall feed could use a little facelift to look more cohesive. I mean, we want those posts to pop and stand out from the crowd, right?

Here’s Where I Come In! ✨

Let’s chat about giving your social media visuals a fresh new look. Every brand has its unique vibe, and that should shine through in your content! But there are some universal tips I can share that’ll help you elevate your game across the board:

  1. Use Large and Bold Text for Carousels: This has been shown to boost traction on the explore page. Try messing around on Canva with various styles that fit your brand.
  2. Maintain a Consistent Color Palette and Style: Consistency is key! It ties everything together and makes your feed look sleek.
  3. Publish High-Quality Images and Videos: Seriously, nobody wants to see blurry or low-res content. It’s a major turn-off!
  4. Ensure Your Content is Well-Lit and Clear: Videos in bad lighting just don’t grab attention in those critical first few seconds. You want to hook your audience right away!
