Ok so, if you aren’t already using calendar blocking when creating content for social, NOW is your time to try. This was a total game-changer for me, like it truly has made my life sooo much easier.
What is it exactly? Well, it’s pretty much as it sounds. You literally go through your calendar and time block parts of your schedule for each task you want to get done.
Start by doing these three things:
01/ Batch smaller tasks together
Any small related to-dos should be included in one time slot. Batch all your self-care activities together in a single 30-minute window: meditation, stretching, and journaling before diving into your workday. Or block off several hours on Fridays to do “Creative Work” – brainstorming content topics, creating social media graphics, updating mood boards for upcoming campaigns, etc.
02/ Be specific about each task
Go into detail about what you’ll be working on. Instead of “Engage on social media,” say “Leave thoughtful comments on 10 industry-related posts, respond to 5 DMs, and start a conversation with three new followers.”
03/ Aim for shorter blocks of time
Give each task on your calendar about one hour. If you need more time, you can divide it into multiple time slots to break it up.
This is only the first step to getting organized with content creation for your brand.
Next up is fine-tuning your social strategy. Hit the ground running on social and book a strategy sesh with me!
