How To Limit Screen Time as a Content Creator

THIS IS HOW TO LIMIT SCREEN TIME

AS A CREATOR

Even as a SMM, I resist the urge to throw my phone in a trashcan and light it on fire.

Part of showing up on stories means adding even more screen time to your day (we ALL could use less of this, right?).

Here’s how to limit your screen time as a creator:

01/ Set Daily Boundaries

Stick to a set screen time each day. You can also add these settings to your phone to let you know when you’ve hit your limit—or a timer works, too. Try setting specific app limits (like TikTok for 1h a day!).

02/ Analog Inspiration Hour

Schedule one hour a day where you work offline with physical tools like sketchbooks, post-its, or notebooks to brainstorm ideas. Let creativity flow without the distractions of tech. Added brain boost bonus: writing things down involves more cognitive brain activity than typing!

03/ Digital Detox Day

Designate one day per week when you go completely (or largely) screen-free. Use the time to recharge with nature walks, reading physical books, or practicing mindfulness. You will feel completelyyyy refreshed. It might sound daunting to go ALL day without screens, but I know you can do it!

04/ Delegate

Share responsibilities so you don’t overwhelm yourself. You don’t have to do it all! Whether this be with your team, outsourcing, or finding ways to automate processes where you can (more on this next!), figure out which tasks you could use a helping hand with.
